Ohio voter protection
Count every ballot.
We help Ohioans vote and keep their ballot valid, and we fight the statehouse bills that make voting harder. Right now, that fight is about SB293.
Two ballots. Both on time.
What SB293 changed
Under SB293, "mailed on time" no longer protects your ballot. "Arrived on time" does. Demo illustration of the law's core change.
The fight right now
SB293 throws out ballots that were mailed on time
SB293·Now law ·Effective March 2026 ·Challenged in court
SB293 discards ballots that were mailed on time. That is not security. It is a thrown-away vote. We are lobbying to count every ballot that was postmarked on time, and we are backing the court challenge.
What changed
Your mail ballot now has to arrive at the board of elections by the time polls close on Election Day. A postmark by Election Day is no longer enough, so timely ballots can be thrown out over postal delays voters cannot control.
The law also adds monthly voter-roll checks that can wrongly flag naturalized citizens.
At the statehouse
They made it harder to vote. We are making it harder to get away with.
Testimony at every hearing. A public scorecard on voting access. Members who show up. That is how a bad bill meets resistance.

How we work
One project, two arms
We keep education and advocacy in separate legal entities, so tax-deductible dollars inform voters and never touch partisan politics.
We inform voters.
Plain-language guides, deadline alerts, registration and ballot-cure help, and litigation support. Nonpartisan.
Tax-deductible. Does not support or oppose any candidate.
We fight the bills.
Lobbying, testimony, rapid response, and a public scorecard holding the statehouse accountable.
Not tax-deductible.
